Between Doctrine & Text is a critical examination of Christianity that focuses on the space where belief, tradition, and scripture intersect — and often diverge.

بين العقيدة والنص هي منصة نقدية لفحص المسيحية، تركّز على المساحة التي يلتقي فيها الإيمان والتقليد بالنص الكتابي — وحيث يفترقان في كثير من الأحيان.

This publication is not devoted to defending doctrine, nor to dismissing faith.

هذه المدوّنة لا تهدف إلى الدفاع عن العقائد، ولا إلى رفض الإيمان.

Its purpose is more precise: to examine how Christian doctrines have been formed, interpreted, and sometimes imposed upon the biblical text.

هدفها أدق من ذلك: دراسة كيفية تشكّل العقائد المسيحية، وكيف فُسّرت، وأحيانًا فُرضت على النص الكتابي.

Christianity has accumulated centuries of interpretation, commentary, and theological tradition.

راكمت المسيحية عبر القرون طبقات من التفسيرات، والشروح، والتقاليد اللاهوتية.

Over time, these layers can become so familiar that they are mistaken for the text itself.

Between Doctrine & Text exists to slow that process down.

To separate what is written from what is believed, and to examine the assumptions that connect the two.

This blog engages in close reading of biblical texts, historical and linguistic analysis, and examination of doctrinal development.

تهتم هذه المدوّنة بالقراءة الدقيقة للنصوص الكتابية، والتحليل التاريخي واللغوي، ودراسة تطوّر العقائد.

It also identifies common misunderstandings and inherited assumptions that shape interpretation.

كما تكشف عن سوء الفهم والافتراضات الموروثة التي تؤثر في التفسير.

The approach is critical, but not hostile.

الطرح نقدي، لكنه غير عدائي.

Analytical, but not dismissive.

تحليلي، لكنه غير استخفافي.

Questioning, but not careless.

The aim is intellectual honesty, even when the conclusions are uncomfortable.

Some articles are introductory and freely available.

Others are longer, more detailed examinations offered to supporting members.

Between Doctrine & Text is written for readers who believe that faith, if it is to be taken seriously, must be examined seriously.

بين العقيدة والنص موجّهة إلى القرّاء الذين يؤمنون بأن الإيمان، إن أُخذ بجدّية، يجب أن يُفحَص بجدّية.

And that the text deserves to be read before it is explained.

وأن النص يستحق أن يُقرأ قبل أن يُفسَّر.
